We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling 22!

Today marks Flying Camel’s 22nd birthday and we’re feeling a little nostalgic. Back in 1995, the world was a different place – social media was just a faint dream, Windows 95 was released and the cost of a single Super Bowl ad was just over $1 million dollars.

We’ve rounded up some of the biggest news stories, ad campaigns and famous quotes of 1995 below. And while not all of the Camels were part of the team since day one, we’ve each included a memory from our lives in 1995 before we got our wings!

“No soup for you!” – The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld

“Houston, we have a problem.” – Tom Hanks in Apollo 13

“If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit!” – Defense Attorney Johnnie Cochran during O.J. Simpson’s trial

1995 Memories

Erin: I have to say 1995 was a good year for me. One of the most memorable times of my life happened during this period. Decked out in a full leather outfit, I sang Madonna’s hit song ‘Express Yourself’ in front of my entire elementary school. It doesn’t get any more epic than that!

Kristin: This is a photo of myself (left) and my sister Katie from Christmas 1995. The running joke in my family is that Katie and I look NOTHING alike, so we spent most of our childhood in matching outfits. This was the first Christmas back in Canada after living in Iowa for 2 years away from our extended family!

Olivia: Back in 1995, life was simple for four-year-old Olivia. Most of my time was spent with my little brother, causing trouble at daycare and spending time with my family. This picture was taken during a trip to my family’s condo in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. We went to Disney World for the day, and this snapshot was taken just a few minutes before I met my idol Minnie Mouse for the first time!

Lily: 1995 was the year I got married. That didn’t turn out as planned, and this photo represents the clown I should have married instead LOL

Kim: Always an early adopter, 1995 was the year /me got an IRC boyfriend in Honolulu. My little city in Alberta had no Internet service provider so I had to dial long-distance to Calgary in order to send him messages. Those were the days! <3  —–‘-,–{@

Leanne: I was just finishing up maternity leave with my oldest son when my business partner, Dave Wylie, and I incorporated Flying Camel Marketing Group Inc.

Debbie: In 1995, my parents celebrated my birthday by setting up this uncomfortable photoshoot for me, dressed up like a 20-year-old, or perhaps the Asian version of Princess Leia.

Logan: 1995 was the year of Logan. On September 29, my mom introduced me to the world, and while I have no memory of what that was like, I’m sure for my mom it was both exciting and painful! This is a photo from years later, at the ripe age of 16 #TooCoolForSchool
